How much is the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow?

From 1 March 2026, a pay as you go Elizabeth line journey between Heathrow Airport and Zone 1 costs £15.50.

Heathrow's rail stations are treated as Zone 6 for Travelcard and fare-capping purposes.

Important: Heathrow journeys that start, end or travel through Zone 1 are charged the Heathrow Zone 1 fare regardless of the normal off-peak period.

Fares for journeys that do not involve Zone 1 can be different, so passengers travelling elsewhere in London should check the TfL Single Fare Finder for the exact price.

Can I use contactless on the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow?

Yes. Contactless bank cards and mobile payment devices can be used on the Elizabeth line between Heathrow and London.

Oyster cards are also accepted. Use the same card or device to touch in at Heathrow and touch out at your destination.

Each passenger needs their own payment card or Oyster card. Two adults cannot travel using the same contactless card at the same time.

Elizabeth Line or London Underground?

The Piccadilly line is normally cheaper but slower than the Elizabeth line for journeys into Central London.

The Underground can still be the better option when your destination is close to a Piccadilly line station such as South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Green Park, Piccadilly Circus or King's Cross St Pancras.

For destinations such as Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road and Liverpool Street, the Elizabeth line will often provide the more convenient route.
